Coastal air.
Private feeling.

The shoreline gives the moment space to unfold naturally.

Montara State Beach is a beautiful choice when you want ocean, horizon, and a little more breathing room. I’ll help you plan around light, wind, access, and a natural reason to pause.

A coastal plan

Make room
for the yes.

01

Position close to the cliffs.

In the afternoon, Montara State Beach receives heavy public traffic. Setting up closer to the cliffs offers a quieter area away from the main shoreline flow.

02

Propose near a sand hill.

Choosing a spot behind or near a small sand hill blocks the line of sight from other beachgoers walking along the shore, creating a more private bubble.

03

Stealth focal length variety.

I shoot the surprise discreetly from a distance with a 35-150mm zoom lens, then switch to a 20mm wide and a 50mm f/1.2 prime lens for editorial portraits.
